Statistics do not lie
Research has shown for years that women in the Netherlands are disproportionately confronted with sexually inappropriate behaviour, intimidation, and violence. This applies both in the home and on the street, at work, and in other social environments.
This makes self-defense for women not only relevant, but essential for safety and self-esteem. Self-defense for women is more than just learning physical Krav Maga techniques or working on fitness.
It is also about building self-confidence, learning to set boundaries, and recognizing potentially dangerous situations earlier. In our self-defense course for women, participants learn through realistic scenarios to discover their own strength and how to use it with effective strategies to protect themselves.
In addition to physical skills, self-defense also offers women mental and emotional resilience. You learn how to manage fear better and how to stay in control of your emotions in stressful situations. That gives a stronger foundation for dealing with challenging situations, both inside and outside training.
Emotional and mental resilience
Self-defense for women is about more than physical techniques alone. In training, you also work on confidence, boundary setting, and dealing with tension in realistic situations.
Building self-confidence
You learn to understand your own strength better and notice that you can do more than you think in tense or uncomfortable situations.
Learning to set boundaries
We practise how to state your boundaries more clearly and how to say no to behaviour or situations that do not feel right.
Recognizing potential danger
You learn to spot signals earlier, assess situations better, and respond more consciously when tension rises.
Dealing with fear and stress
Besides physical skills, you also learn how to stay calmer and keep better control of your emotions in stressful situations.
That mental and emotional resilience provides a stronger foundation for dealing with challenging situations, both inside and outside training.

What do you learn in our basic courses?
Our courses offer more than physical techniques alone. They help you respond more safely, clearly, and confidently in situations women and girls may encounter.
Our self-defense course teaches you the basics
Alongside our regular group lessons, we also organize self-defense courses for women and girls that focus on common real-life situations.
Start young: self-defense for girls
Learning to defend yourself is also valuable at a young age. From around age 7, girls can already learn via self-defense for children how to stand up for themselves and feel more confident in different situations.
Early empowerment
By starting self-defense early, girls discover their own strength and build self-confidence from a young age.
Learning to set boundaries
Girls learn how to state their boundaries and say no to behaviour or situations that feel uncomfortable.
Safety at school and beyond
Self-defense gives girls tools to recognize unsafe situations at school, on the street, or online more quickly and respond more appropriately.
A lifelong skill
The skills girls learn can benefit them throughout life: appearing more confident, learning to trust intuition, and learning to protect themselves.
From around age 7, girls can learn the basic principles of self-defense. That can help them feel safer and more confident in different situations.
Did you not start self-defense at a young age? You can still choose to learn it now.
Learning to defend yourself is an investment in yourself
In a society where women still have to deal with violence and intimidation, self-defense and mental resilience are not a luxury but a necessity. Every woman has the right to feel safe, be confident, and learn how to stand up for herself.
