Krav Maga Hilversum
Learn the most realistic self-defense system
For everyone aged 7 and up
At Double Defense, you train Krav Maga as it is meant to be: no-nonsense, intensive and focused on real situations. You learn a complete system against common attacks and threats — with and without weapons, against one or multiple opponents. No ego, no macho culture. Serious training, at your level.

“After a year of Krav Maga training, I feel much more confident. The techniques are practical and directly applicable. The personal attention is great and the atmosphere is fantastic.”
Marc
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is a practical self-defense system originally developed for military use, and today best known as training for civilians. It combines principles from boxing, judo, jiu-jitsu and wrestling — with an emphasis on simple responses that still work under stress.
Krav Maga is not a combat sport and not a competition. It is not about looking good in a fight or beating an opponent, but about recognising threats, creating distance, setting boundaries and, when necessary, intervening physically. That is why it is often a logical choice for beginners: you do not need experience, but you do need to be willing to learn and train realistically.
Looking for a calmer, more personal route where the focus is less on fighting skills? Then our resilience training may suit you better. You can follow both routes at Double Defense — and switch if that fits your goal.
Is Krav Maga right for you?
Krav Maga is for you if you want to purposefully work on self-defense, fitness and confidence in your own ability to act. You train intensively, but always start from where you are now.
You want to learn to defend yourself
You want to know what you can do when a situation becomes physical. That is why you learn a complete and practical system for common attacks and threats.
You are looking for a challenging workout
Not talking, but doing. Krav Maga classes are physical and intensive, with room to become stronger, fitter and more skilled step by step.
You want to learn to act with confidence
By practising realistcally on a regular basis, you discover what you can do and build confidence based on real experience.
Teenagers aged 16 and over may join the adult group if they want to and they are ready for it. We also have separate Krav Maga classes for children and teenagers.

What will you learn with us?
In Krav Maga classes in Hilversum, you work on skills you need in real life — mentally, verbally and physically.
Realistic self-defense
You learn to handle punches, kicks, grabs, threats and situations involving one or multiple people. With and without weapons, in scenarios that reflect what you may encounter outside class.
Acting under pressure
Technique alone is not enough. You train so that you can act when adrenaline rises: staying calmer, making decisions faster and responding more clearly, with the goal of getting home safely.
Strength, fitness and coordination
Training is physically challenging. You become stronger, fitter and more agile — not as an end in itself, but because a resilient body belongs with a resilient system.
Confidence with a foundation
Confidence grows when you discover what you can do in situations that used to feel tense. That is what many students share after training at Double Defense.
A system you work through step by step
You do not learn Krav Maga in a few separate classes. You build skills that increasingly connect, so you do not just know techniques, but understand when and how to use them.
From basics to more complex situations
You begin with the principles and basic techniques of the system. As you progress, you combine them in more complex situations and learn to switch more quickly between defending, counterattacking and getting away.
A broad self-defense system
Krav Maga goes beyond defending against punches and kicks. You also work on escaping holds, threats, weapon attacks and situations with more than one opponent. This lets you develop yourself in several areas at once.
Suitable for every level
You do not need experience to start. The basics are accessible for beginners, while experienced students find increasing depth, speed and challenge. That keeps training interesting when you train with us for longer.

Why Krav Maga at Double Defense?
Your goal comes first with us. Whether you choose Krav Maga, resilience training, or switch between both: we help you find what fits. At Double Defense, you will not find macho culture, but personal attention and a safe environment.
Almost 10 years in Hilversum
We combine more than 15 years of experience in Krav Maga, resilience, pedagogical work and coaching. Our head instructor, Dorieke, was trained as a Civilian Krav Maga instructor by the Global Instructor Team of the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF) in Israel, and also specialises in Krav Maga for women and children.
The student comes first, not the instructor
People choose Double Defense not because they think we are the best Krav Maga instructors, but because of our vision, teaching method, broad person-centred approach, and the atmosphere in the group.
A safe atmosphere
Training Krav Maga means practising contact, tension and sometimes difficult situations. That can only happen when you feel safe in the group. That is why we train with clear agreements, attention for one another and respect for everyone’s boundaries. We gradually build intensity and contact, so that you are challenged without going beyond your limits. You have nothing to prove: you can ask questions, make mistakes and learn at your own level.
Krav Maga for children and youth
We have separate programmes for younger age groups — with the same core, in a form that fits their age.
Children aged 7–10
We have developed a programme where resilience and Krav Maga principles come together. The material is taught playfully and adapted to this age group.
Krav Maga for childrenYouth aged 11–17
Krav Maga for young people who want to learn the Krav Maga system seriously. From age 16, joining the adult group is possible when the young person is ready.
