How can we help you?

Resilience matters for everyone. And judging by what we read in the media, it is becoming more important all the time. The rise in aggression and violence — especially among young people — is worrying. On top of that, more than half of people in the Netherlands do not get enough exercise. And the way we treat each other, online and on the street, is changing. And not always in a positive way.

Perhaps you have dealt with this yourself. For example through bullying, intimidation, or (domestic) violence. Or you want to learn what to do if you ever face it, and how to prevent it. Or you want to learn Krav Maga the way it is meant to be practiced: intense, physical, and realistic. When you have a clear goal related to this, we would love to help you reach it!

To reach your goal, you can choose from two routes: Krav Maga and resilience training. The difference lies in focus and intensity — so you can train in a way that fits you.

Why Double Defense?

Because not everyone needs the same thing.

Everyone reacts differently when boundaries are crossed. That is why we not only look at what you can learn, but above all at what you need to become more resilient.

  • Your goal comes first

Whether you choose Krav Maga, resilience training, or switch between both: you decide what fits. We help you find the route that best matches your goal.

  • Personal attention

We look at who you are, what you find difficult, and what you want to learn. Whatever route you choose, we pay attention to your personal needs.

  • Room to be yourself

Double Defense is a place where you can be yourself, where you feel safe, and where you can share your story if you want to. And where you can also have a lot of fun. Because that matters too!

  • A safe atmosphere without macho culture

We place a lot of value on a good atmosphere where we help each other and treat one another with respect. Where things like age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, skin color, 'label', and 'how good you are' do not matter.

What training with us can do

Everyone arrives with their own story. This is what participants and parents share after training at Double Defense.

  • Dorieke and Marcel are super enthusiastic and approachable, which made me feel comfortable enough to try everything and be vulnerable. I learned so much in the course!

  • The training has brought our daughter and us a lot. Especially the confidence that she can effectively and resolutely guard and express her boundaries is of immeasurable value to us as parents.

    ~Karen and Joost

  • In a time when, as a woman, you keep a close eye on your surroundings when you are alone on the street, I find it very important to know what you can do when you end up in a situation where you are attacked. I now cycle and walk alone with much more self-confidence!

  • The atmosphere at Double Defense is open, warm, and professional. The training sessions are given with enthusiasm and have a nice balance between play and exercise, which keeps the training fun, light, and playful for this age group. It does our children a lot of good, their self-confidence has grown enormously, and they stand mentally and physically stronger in this world. We are very grateful to Dorieke and Marcel for what they do. Thank you!
